When you give to the regular budget at FBC Griffin, your contribution supports a host of vital ministries throughout the church. Each month, we spotlight the incredible work of one of the ministries your giving supports through an article in the Your Giving in Action series. Below, you will find a deeper dive into the way your giving supports our worship services.

Encourage One Another

   Last Tuesday afternoon, Marjorie sat in her favorite chair by the window, the quiet of the day stretching a little longer than she liked. Recovering at home has its challenges, and some days feel especially still. But that day, the mailbox held something different.

    Among the usual, impersonal advertisements and envelopes was a handwritten card.

    Inside were simple words—“You are missed. You are loved. We are praying for you.”—but to Marjorie, they carried extraordinary weight. In that moment, she felt remembered. Connected. Not alone.

   Stories like Marjorie’s unfold every week through the faithful work of our card writing team. With each handwritten note, they reach members in hospitals, nursing homes, college dorm rooms, and in living rooms where the people wonder if they have been forgotten. These are not mass-produced messages, but thoughtful expressions of care—each one prayerfully written, each one uniquely personal.

   While the church provides support through postage and supplies, many on this team go beyond—purchasing their own cards and stamps out of love for those who will receive their notes.

   What may seem like a small gesture becomes something much greater. A card arrives on a difficult day. A name is remembered. A heart is lifted.

   And in ways we may never fully see, these simple acts of love remind each recipient: you are still part of this family. We are for you. We are with you.

   Our community thrives when ministries like the Card Writing Team respond to the call to live generously with their time, talents, and resources. In fact, during the month of March (2026) alone, our team shared their love through 179 cards. Your support of our regular budget is part of this bigger pictures, part of our community of grace.
