FBC Griffin Kids
FBC Griffin Kids serves families with children birth through 5th grade. Our goal is to provide a loving and welcoming environment that helps children discover God and the tools they need to become the people God created and calls them to be both now and in future. Recognizing that both the church and families are better together, we strive to partner with and equip parents for their role as faith teachers and leaders in the lives of their children. We offer Sunday School, Children’s Worship, Kids Quest on Wednesdays, and various inter-generational experiences throughout the year.
Sunday School classes meet every Sunday morning, 9:45 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. Classes for children birth-Kindergarten meet on our Preschool Hall, most easily entered via the circle drive on Poplar Street, and provide a time where children can study the Bible and discover a God who loves them through storytelling, singing, crafts, service projects, drama, and other related activities.
Our 1st-5th grade classes meet on the second floor of the Cheatham Education building. We begin together in room 208 before separating according to grade. Using the Feasting on the Word curriculum, our children study one of the day’s lectionary passages, which often corresponds with themes and scriptures in our worship services.
Children birth-three years old may remain in their Sunday School room for worship care during 11:00 a.m. services. Those four years old through 5th grade should be picked up by a parent or guardian to begin the 11:00 a.m. worship hour together.
Children of all ages are welcome in any of our worship services. Worship carts with Bibles and other worship aids are available in our 11:00 a.m. services. We also provide specific opportunities for children.
We offer Worship Care for babies through three years old. With both paid workers and volunteers, children learn about God’s love through play, songs, and snacks.
Children ages four through fifth grade begin the 11:00 a.m. worship hour with their families. Both Celebration and Connexion Worship have worship carts and a children’s sermon. At the designated time, children are invited to join Children’s Worship in Bramblett Chapel.
Children’s Worship is a child-led service that meets and picks up in Bramblett Chapel. Children read scripture, lead prayers, and engage in active songs and Bible drills before a brief sermon related to the scripture passages preached in Celebration and/or Connexion. Children’s Worship meets every Sunday except Communion Sundays or One Church services.
Kids Quest meets on Wednesdays from 6:00-7:00 p.m., August through May.
For two year olds through grade five, our time together is divided between music and missions. All ages engage in thirty minutes of choir, using both favorite hymns and new arrangements to teach scripture and worship leadership. We share our gifts with our church family and community throughout the school year. The evening also includes thirty minutes of play, foods, and crafts that help us learn to serve God locally and by partnering with our Cooperative Baptist Fellowship family around the world.
