FBC Griffin Kids
FBC Griffin Kids serves families with children birth through 5th grade. Our goal is to provide a loving and welcoming environment that helps children discover God and the tools they need to become the people God created and calls them to be both now and in future. Recognizing that both the church and families are better together, we strive to partner with and equip parents for their role as faith teachers and leaders in the lives of their children. We offer Sunday School, multiple children’s worship opportunities, Kids Quest on Wednesdays, and various intergenerational experiences throughout the year.
Sunday School classes meet every Sunday morning, 9:45 am – 10:45 am. Classes for children birth-Kindergarten meet on our Preschool Hall, most easily entered via the circle drive on Poplar Street, and provide a time where children can study the Bible and discover a God who loves them through storytelling, singing, crafts, service projects, drama, and other related activities.
Our 1st-5th grade classes meet on the second floor of the Cheatham Education building. We begin together in room 208 before separating according to grade. Our elementary children study a passage for four-five weeks, using a different activity and learning style each week to discover the story. We use art, drama, science, computers, and other hands-on methods to encounter God and how we might share God’s love with the world around us.
Children birth-three years old may remain in their Sunday School room for worship care during 11 am services. Those four years old through 5th grade may remain and be escorted to the worship service for their age group or be picked up to join their family in another worship service.
Children of all ages are welcome in any of our worship services. Worship carts with Bibles and other worship aids are available in our 11 am services. We also provide specific opportunities for children.
We offer Worship Care for babies through three years old. With both paid workers and volunteers, children learn about God’s love through play, songs, and snacks.
Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students are invited to join us for Wee Ones Worship in Room 11 on our Preschool Hall. Using art, storytelling, play, and other hands-on activities, we learn that God made us, God loves us, and Jesus wants to be our friend forever. Wee Ones Worship meets every Sunday except Communion Sundays and Easter.
Kids Worship is a child-led service that meets and picks up in Room 10 on our Preschool Hall before worshipping together in Bramblett Chapel. Children 1st-5th grade serve as ushers, read scripture, and share various talents during the offertory before a sermon that helps us learn and remember that we need to make the wise choice, we can trust God no matter what, and we need to treat others the way we want to be treated. Kids Worship meets every Sunday except Communion Sundays, Easter, and the months of June and July.
Kids Quest meets on Wednesdays from 6:00-7:30 pm, August through May.
For two year olds through Kindergarten, our time together includes thirty minutes of choir followed by an hour of play, foods, and crafts that help us learn to serve God locally and by partnering with our Cooperative Baptist Fellowship family around the world. Classes meet on our Preschool Hall, most easily accessed via the circle drive on Poplar Street.
Our 1st-5th graders spend the evening in three 25 minute activities that generally include choir, mission education, and Bible study that continues our Kids Worship theme from Sunday. We have a theme that changes every five-six weeks and that influences at least one of the three activities during that time. We end each Wednesday together for a group devotion and meet on the second floor of the Cheatham Education building.
Nursery care for children two and younger whose parents are involved in small groups on our campus is available on Wednesday nights.
