Celebrating a Successful Opening to Men’s Ministry
When you give to the regular budget at First Baptist, your investment funds the ministries of our community, both within the church and outside of our walls. Some of the ministries you support serve very specific needs within our faith community, but then others — like the Men’s Ministry — provide an opportunity for personal growth through fellowship and service.
While men have gathered as a peer group as long as the church has met, the Men’s Ministry was reconstituted at FBC only within the past few years. In 2024, this group held a kick off meeting where they shared time together over a meal and the Master’s golf tournament. Later, they traveled to a baseball game together, and recently they have helped with events and projects around the church, including the installation of the nativity set on our front lawn.
Ministry that supports men opens up a pathway for connection through meaningful activities. While many FBC men serve throughout the church as Deacons, as Sunday school and small group leaders, as members of the Levite Ministry or the Worship Tech team, in Security and Properties, on the Benevolence Ministry, and in so many more capacities, these ministries are driven by very particular needs. A Men’s Ministry activity reminds participants that taking time to be among peers and engage in activities together can be rewarding spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and even physically — men need this connection just as much as women do.
Cultivating a Men’s Ministry yields spiritual fruit, because men can model attributes of faith to others who may be at a different stage in their spiritual journey. Mentoring like this can develop integrity and virtue that later serves the larger community through civic engagement. Servant leaders can inspire others to participate in worthy projects to accomplish the work of God’s kingdom. Men become accessible to one another, not just for professional networking, but for personal growth and spiritual encouragement when they choose to be present in Men’s Ministry.
As you support our regular budget, remember that you are making it possible for ministries to meet needs across our church, including your own.
