A graceful bloom dips ever so slightly across your path in the Chapel Garden as you make your way into the church. Subtle floral notes accent the tables as you round the corner and proceed to the sanctuary. You enter the room and drink in the undercurrent of voices — friends encountering one another gladly in the house of the Lord. There upon the altar you see an Artistic rendering alive with pastels and earthy tones, delicately balanced and stunning to behold.

Floral arrangements play a significant role in shaping a person’s impression of a place whether or not that person consciously acknowledges them. Long associated with beauty, warmth, and hospitality, flowers become a powerful tool in setting the atmosphere of any space. Research shows that flowers can trigger happy emotions and positively affect social behavior. In a church whose first stated value is that we welcome openly, these thoughtful touches along the surfaces, walls, and other spaces are a key component of making others feel at ease.

Did you know that FBC has a Flower Team? This ministry operates behind the scenes to curate lovely and sophisticated floral designs throughout our church. Dedicated volunteers  maintain the greenery weekly by watering, feeding, and pruning the live plants. These delightful plants promote a sense of calm and peace throught the spaces of the church.

Generous donations given in honor or memory of a loved one generally fund the altar arrangemennts we see on Sunday mornings. These integrations are more than decorative, they give your eye a place to light — a place of tranquility fit for discovery — while you are considering the weight of what the Holy Spirit has brought to your consideration during worship.

The Flower Team, among so many other ministries, is supported by your generous giving to the regular budget. Know that each donation you entrust to us is carefully put to use in service to the kingdom of God, and our Flower Team works diligently to accomplish their purpose in this larger mission.
