The First United Methodist Church (1401 Maple Dr.) was one of the first shelters the Red Cross set up in the area for storm victims. This site is no longer operating as a shelter.
RELIEF
For relief assistance, call 678-453-4508 Monday through Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Financial donations can be dropped off at the Chamber of Commerce or mailed to Griffin Spalding County at PO Box 72, Griffin, GA 30223. Please indicate GS Tornado Relief 23 on the donation.

City Church on Solomon (220 E. Solomon St., Griffin), continues to serve as a point of distribution for emergency relief, but they are now providing relief supplies directly to agencies that distribute to the community. Organizations (only) can pick up from the site on Thursday and Saturday between 10am and 4pm.
No volunteers or donations are needed at this time.
VOLUNTEER
Griffin has routed much requests for help, donations, and volunteers through its Call Center. Please call 678-453-4508 between 9am and 6pm for information.
The Chamber of Commerce provided snacks and hot meals for workers and First Responders at Historic City Hall for much fo the crisis period.
Chainsaw and Heavy Equipment crews should report to the Senior Center (885 Memorial Drive) to receive a work order.
Track Rock Baptist Church out of Blairsville, Georgia served from February 3-8 in Griffin. They brought heavy equipment and helped with tree removal in the areas hit hardest by the storm. They stayed in FBC facilities while they were here. Thank you for extending hospitality to these new friends who will be coming to help our community.
For much of the past few weeks, Samaritan’s Purse has been stationed at Oak Hill Baptist Church (100 Lakeside Rd., Williamson). Please contact the organization directly to learn about their current efforts to provide relief. Samaritan’s Purse accepts volunteers to help for a day or more. Their current work is removal and salvaging of personal property and furniture, tree work and debris cleanup, roof tapping and temporary repair. Please sign up at their website or call 470-217-1234. Homeowners may request assistance by calling 470-217-0652. This service is free and provided to homeowners who have little or no insurance. Requests are handled on need and volunteer availability.

Team Rubicon worked diligently in Griffin through Monday, January 30. They set up “camp” at FBC Griffin during their two-week assignment here.
Thank you to ALL who volunteered for this effort! The WASH Team finished its last load on Thursday, January 26.
First Baptist Griffin organized a WASH team to assist those workers from out of town who need help with laundry. Over 70 volunteers from FBC Griffin stood at the ready to pick up loads of laundry for out-of-town linemen and other workers.
