Dear Church Family,
As many of you are aware, we are currently in the midst of a new surge in COVID cases in our nation, state, and local community. While the total number of infections is the highest it has been, local data indicates that the cases may not be quite as severe as in previous spikes. Our COVID Response team continues to meet with local medical personnel to stay updated and is committed to transparency with our church community.
We continue to encourage our members to be mindful their own unique health situations. If, at any time, you do not feel comfortable attending in-person services, we hope that you will take advantage of our online and broadcast offerings. Our church-wide guidelines continue to promote personal responsibility and encourage us to let love for God and neighbor be our guide:
Please continue to exercise personal care — wash hands regularly, use hand sanitizer, cover any coughs and sneezes, and stay home if you are not feeling well. Face coverings are certainly welcome, but are not required. Disposable masks and hand sanitizer are available and should be easily accessible for all to use if they choose.
We continue to recommend some physical distancing in our worship spaces to extend grace to those who may be more cautious in their approach to the virus. When interacting with others, we would ask that you respect the various comfort levels individuals have as it relates to physical touch and space. If in doubt, just ask permission.
We believe that the best approach at this point is cautiously continue all standard programming throughout our church. Sunday school classes and small groups are meeting in person; the choir, praise band, children’s music, and ukulele ensembles are meeting weekly; and our youth and children’s ministries continue to meet each week with a full range of activities.
On occasion, some groups have elected not to meet because of unique concerns for their particular members (if you have a question about any specific group, please don’t hesitate to contact the church office for the most updated information.
We have a number of community groups that have used our facility and we will continue to evaluate requests for use of our building by outside community groups on a case-by-case basis (concerts, banquets, or other events). Capacity for these events may still be limited at this time.
As we have stated throughout the pandemic, we will continue to monitor all available information and may revise our gathering protocols as needed. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact Steven Norris (Senior Pastor) or Butch Sutton (Chair of Deacons).
