Library’s 75th Birthday Celebration

You are invited to attend the 75th Anniversary celebration of the First Baptist Church Library Ministry this Sunday, November 3.

As we celebrate we are asking our church family to share special library memories or come and make a memory! You may share a memory by email at library@fbcgriffin.org, bring a written memory, or sign our memory book in the library.

All Saints’ Observance

The writer of Hebrews encourages us, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us…” All Saints’ Day is a chance for the Church to remember those from our community who have joined the “great cloud of witnesses” this past year. It is a chance to honor their service, celebrate their legacy, and give thanks for their lives. Our hope is that their example will inspire us all to continue running the race to which we are called with perseverance and devotion. We will have a special time of remembrance in our Celebration Service on Sunday, November 3.

Journey in Grace: Membership Gathering

FBC Griffin is a “community of grace.” However, we recognize that grace is a journey, not a destination. As with any journey, there are often unexpected twists and turns in the road. Whatever your journey has been to this point, we are thankful that God has led you to First Baptist. We want to provide tools for you to help navigate your journey and give you a better understanding of this community that God is forming.

The Journey in Grace: Membership Gathering is a basic introduction to our church family and is designed to clearly explain who and what our church is. This gathering provides an overview of our understanding of Salvation, our basic church beliefs, and our structure as a church. You will hear about the history of First Baptist Griffin and will learn a little about our understanding of what it means to be a “Baptist” congregation.

The “Journey in Grace” gathering is designed for two groups of people. First, it is for those who have joined our fellowship in the past year or so and would like to have a better understanding of who we are at FBC. Second, it is for those who have been attending and are thinking about joining First Baptist but want to explore what that means in a little depth.

This class will be taught by Steven Norris, the Associate Pastor at FBC and will meet on Sunday, November 3 after the service. We will provide a light lunch as part of this experience, followed by a 90 minute class. Childcare is available for students, age birth – 5th grade. While this is a free event, we do ask that you register to help us with food, material preparation, and childcare
