Our own Champ Stinson will be honored on Sunday, April 14 in the 11:00 a.m. Celebration service. Champ has been a blessing to us for 22 ½ years now, taking care of our facilities, setting up chairs for innumerable events and worship services, and helping members with many special needs each week.
Champ has announced his retirement which will take effect April 19. The Finance Committee has authorized that a “Love Offering” be taken [which is tax deductible] as a sign of our affection. If you would like to participate in this offering, make your check payable to First Baptist Church and deliver it to the church no later than April 9th. Donations may be made online as well.
Because of such a long tenure, we are planning a reception immediately after worship on Palm Sunday, April 14. In order to facilitate well-wishers, we will set up the reception in the Welcome Center outside the church offices. Light refreshments will be provided as well as a receiving basket for cards and letters affirming his ministry to us all. We certainly will miss his faithful ministry to our congregation.
