The Community Egg Hunt is now an Egg Grab! Our local forecast is predicting rain, so they are moving our egg-stravaganza INSIDE Historic City Hall. Join us and our local church partners for Easter-themed arts and crafts, pictures with the Easter Bunny, and a gigantic Egg Grab between 3:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.! This event is tied into the larger 2nd Saturday event in downtown Griffin, so come out early to enjoy the sidewalk sales (from 11am to 6pm) and to pick up your “Eggmission” ticket for the egg grab before 3:00p.m. at any of the participating downtown businesses or restaurants. Throughout the day, you can expect to see live music and other fun, family-friendly activities downtown.
Good Friday is the name we give to the day that Jesus took upon himself our punishment by crucifixion on a cross. We will observe Good Friday through a special worship service on our front lawn at 7:00 p.m. Throughout Holy Week, you will see stations of the cross just inside our fence, each punctuated with the seven “last words of Christ.” Each of the stations has a QR code that enables you to read and reflect on the statements. Take time this week to observe and remember that Jesus chose this path to secure YOUR redemption and to restore YOU into relationship with God. In the event of rain, this worship service will be moved indoors.
HE IS RISEN!
On Easter Sunday, we invite you to celebrate with us the glorious news that Jesus Christ is risen from the dead!
For the early risers, the Community Sunrise Service takes place at 6:30 a.m. at Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church.
We hope you will join us at FBC Griffin for an Easter Service. Celebration worship (our traditional service) meets in the Sanctuary at 9:00 a.m. Connexion worship (our contemporary service) meets in the Morgan Hall (located inside the Family Life Center with an entrance off of 8th Street) at 11:15 a.m.
We invite you to bring a flower from your yard to place on our Easter cross, which will be located just outside of Bramblett Chapel. This tradition affords families an opportunity for beautiful Easter photos each year. (Please note that in case of rain, the Easter Cross will be located inside the Welcome Center, just outside the Sanctuary.)
Please note that our Church Offices will be closed on Monday, April 10, in observance of the holiday.
