Over many months, an ad-hoc committee has considered how best to address the concerns posed by our aging playground. The committee has presented a proposed solution to the Deacons and has received approval to move forward in sharing this proposal with the congregation.
Dear Friends,
Our playground ad hoc committee has been meeting for many months, including visiting five other local playgrounds trying to determine the best way to redo our playground. We finally have a plan that is best suited for everyone’s needs. The plan has been structured to suit children of all ages; and even includes a small walking track that young and old can use, as well as a pavilion. The safety element was also taken into consideration while making these plans. The total cost for the project is $200,000.
The plan was submitted to the finance committee and the board of deacons this past Monday, June 15. The plan was approved, and $50,000 was earmarked for the project by Finance and the Trustees have committed $50,000. With additional funding from the Weekday program and pledges from potential donors, we have met over 75% of this goal.
Now we need your help to bring this vision to life. Donations of any amount will move us closer to our goal and help create a safe, welcoming playground and walking area for children, families, and friends of all ages to enjoy. Your generous support will help us complete this meaningful project for our church family. To give, you may write a check to FBC with the word “Playground” in the memo line. Or you may use the “Give Online” link above to donate.
The ad hoc (now changed to playground) committee consists of: Diane Lamb, Lori Welborn, Bob Long, Tami Craig, Chase Hassey, Zeke Harvey, and Claire Crouch. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact anyone on this committee. We invite you to watch the short video provided in the link below to see what the renovated space will ultimately look like.
Again, thank you for your consideration and your prayers.
Sincerely,
Diane Lamb, on behalf of the Playground Committee
