As you may have noticed on Sunday, the renovation in the Family Life Building has officially begun. Workmen have boots on the ground and progress is being made! Thank you for your patience as we seek to get this project completed as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Don’t forget that the double doors under the drive through on 8th Street will be closed during the renovation. However, you can still access the FLC. The key FOB has been temporarily relocated to the door on the north side of the FLC (facing West Taylor St.). You can access the gym and weight room using your FOB at this entrance throughout the week. On Sundays, the doors on the north side will be unlocked as well as the door on the south side (facing Poplar St., beside the Hospitality Room). Since this is the temporary location of the Coffee House, you may want to take advantage of that entrance. Signs will be posted to direct you to the available entrances. As always, if you see someone who looks lost, please offer to help.
As for progress this week, all of the drop ceilings have been removed in the lobby area, coffee house, and selected hallways. The demolition on the three selected walls will begin on Wednesday to enlarge the coffee house and make room for our new Information Center. The Renovation Team also hopes to have the framing on the walls completed by Friday. You can see a few pictures of the progress throughout this page and in the Sunday morning information slides. Thank you for your support. We are excited about the things God is doing at First Baptist as we seek to be a “community of grace” to Griffin, Spalding County, and beyond.
