What’s Up?

FBC Griffin Kids

FBC Griffin Kids serves families with children birth through 5th grade. Our goal is to provide a loving and welcoming environment that helps children discover God, as well as the tools they need to become the people God created and calls them to be both now and in the future. Recognizing that both the church and families are better together, we strive to partner with and equip parents for their role as faith teachers and leaders in the lives of their children. We offer Sunday School, Children’s Worship, Music & Missions on Wednesdays, and various inter-generational experiences throughout the year. During the summer, our FBC Kids get together for activities at the church or the waterpark. We host a Vacation Bible School in July.

Sunday School

Sunday School classes meet every Sunday morning, 10:15 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Classes for children birth-Kindergarten meet on our Preschool Hall, most easily entered via the circle drive on Poplar Street, and provide a time where children can study the Bible and discover a God who loves them through storytelling, singing, crafts, service projects, drama, and other related activities.

Our 1st-5th grade classes meet on the second floor of the Cheatham Education building. We begin together in room 208 before separating according to grade. Using the Feasting on the Word curriculum, our children study one of the day’s lectionary passages, which often corresponds with themes and scriptures in our worship services.

Children birth-three years old may remain in their Sunday School room for worship care during worship services. Those four years old through 5th grade should be picked up by a parent or guardian to begin the 9:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. worship hours together.

Worship

Children of all ages are welcome in any of our worship services. Worship carts with Bibles and other worship aids are available at the doors to our worship services. We also provide specific opportunities for children.

We offer Worship Care for babies through three years old. With both paid workers and volunteers, children learn about God’s love through play, songs, and snacks.

Children ages four through fifth grade begin the worship hour with their families. Both Celebration and Connexion Worship have worship carts and a children’s sermon.

At the designated time during the Connexion Worship service, children are invited to join Children’s Worship in the Education Building. During Children’s Worship, children read scripture, lead prayers, and engage in active songs and Bible lessons. Children’s Worship meets every Sunday except Communion Sundays or One Church services.

Music & Missions

Music & Missions meets on Wednesdays from 6:00-7:00 p.m., August through May.

The evening also includes music, play, foods, and crafts that help us learn to serve God locally and by partnering with our Cooperative Baptist Fellowship family around the world.

Children (1st through 5th grades) meet on the second floor of the Education building at 6:00 p.m. while preschool children (K5 and under) meet on the Preschool Hall.

Extras

We are always looking for ways to have a little more fun while we learn about Jesus. Whether it is an indoor snowball fight, an (epic) glow-in-the-dark dodgeball battle, a PJs and Pancakes extravaganza, baking cookies for first responders, writing encouraging messages for those who are hurting, or just having a few laughs over lunch with Lori—there’s never a dull moment in KIDMIN at FBC!

Let's chat!
