Multigenerational Ash Wednesday Service
February 26 at 6:00 p.m. in Morgan Hall
Join us as we repent and turn toward the Cross in preparation for Easter! Ash Wednesday begins the season of Lent, forty days of reflection and repentance prior to Resurrection Sunday and the Easter season. We receive the ashes on our hands or foreheads and explore the mystery of Easter together. We need a host for each table during the storytelling—someone to help the visual pieces come to life at each table while the story is told by the storyteller. People sixth grade and older would make great table hosts. If you would like to be a table host, please contact Sarah Murray.
Lenten Book Study
Brian McCartney will facilitate a Lenten Study on Portraits of Jesus in the Gospels on Wednesday mornings, 10:30-11:30 a.m. in the Cheatham Room, beginning March 4. If you are interested in participating, please let Brian know. There is no required reading or homework for this study group.
Lent and Holy Week Schedule 2020
Throughout the Season of Lent, we will be starting a series entitled, “Rooted in Transformation” in all three of our morning services at First Baptist. This series will look at some familiar passages from the Gospel of John about ways in which Jesus transformed individuals through his power and love. Lent is a perfect time for each of us to examine ourselves and see the ways Christ is transforming us into his image and the areas that we still need to surrender to the Spirit’s control.
